Custom software studio · Ontario, Canada

We build software
like we own it.

Sometimes, we actually do.

We turn websites into mobile apps, take MVPs from idea to launch, and build full SaaS platforms, then stay on to run them. With engagement models where we only win when you do, including builds with nothing upfront.

We build custom software — turning websites into native apps, taking MVPs from idea to launch, building full SaaS platforms, and running them for the long term.

Four things,
done properly.

We keep the surface area small on purpose: apps, MVPs, full platforms, and the long tail of running them well.

/01

Your website,
as an app

You already have customers on the web. We turn your site into a native iOS and Android app they keep on their home screen. Push notifications, offline support, and the App Store launch, handled for you.

Your MVP,
designed & shipped

An idea and a deadline. We take founders from a napkin sketch to a live product in weeks, not quarters. Design, build, launch, and analytics, all baked in.

Full SaaS
platforms

Multi-tenant web platforms with dashboards, roles, billing, and AI where it earns its keep, the kind of system a whole company runs on. Designed, built, and operated end to end.

Ongoing
product care

Software isn't finished at launch. We monitor, patch, keep up with new OS releases, and keep shipping improvements, all under a flat, predictable monthly fee.

Work that's live
in production.

The fastest way to judge a studio is to use what it ships. A consumer app on the App Store, and enterprise SaaS that companies run their operations on.

GOPulse

iOS · Live on the App Store

A GO Transit companion for Ontario commuters: live train tracking on a real map, smart departure reminders, and disruption alerts before you leave the house. Built because we ride GO ourselves, and run with the same care we bring to client work.

A global entity command center: companies spin up subsidiaries in new countries, track every compliance deadline, manage vendors and documents, and ask an AI assistant that knows their entities. Enterprise SaaS, in daily use across jurisdictions.

03How we work

Pay the way that
fits your risk.

Same build quality on every model. The difference is who carries the upfront cost, and who owns the code. Every model keeps us accountable for the software after launch, because shipping and disappearing isn't an option we sell.

Model 01 · Zero Upfront

$0 to start

We fund the entire build. You commit to a monthly care contract, and we own the code for the term, typically two to three years.

Model 03 · Transaction Fee

A small fee per transaction

No upfront invoice. We design, build, and run your product, then take a small fee on each transaction it processes, just enough to cover what it costs to run. Not a slice of your revenue, a small operating fee that stays out of your way.

Every care fee covers

  • All bug fixes

Bugs are inevitable, even million-dollar teams ship them. Ours to fix, never an extra invoice.

  • Product support tickets

Your customers' app issues come to us, not your team. Zero support overhead on your side.

  • Small changes

Copy tweaks and minor improvements. An hour or two of development each month, included.

  • A monthly check-in

A short call with your team on how the product is running and what should come next.

Not sure which fits? That's the point of the intro call. We'll tell you which model we'd pick if we were in your position.

04Process

From first call
to first release.

  1. 01

    Intro call

Thirty minutes, free. You talk, we listen, and we'll tell you whether it's worth building at all.

  2. 02

    Scope & proposal

Within a week: a fixed scope, a real timeline, and the engagement model we'd recommend. In writing.

  3. 03

    Build in the open

A working build on your phone from the early weeks, and a demo every week after. No black box, no big reveal.

  4. 04

    Launch & run

We handle App Store review, then stay on for monitoring, updates, and the next feature on the roadmap.

05Questions

Asked, answered.

Who owns the code?

On a Classic build, you do, from day one, with full access to the repository, and you're free to take it to any other team at any time. On Zero Upfront and Transaction Fee builds, NorthStack owns the code for the length of the contract. That's what makes the $0 invoice possible.

How fast can you ship an MVP?

Most MVPs go from first call to a live product in six to ten weeks, depending on scope. You'll have a working build on your own phone well before that.

Do you use AI to build?

Yes, openly. AI does the heavy lifting; senior engineers review every line before it ships, with the same testing, CI/CD, and security practices as always. You get the speed and the savings without the corners cut. Here's exactly how we build →

What do you build with?

Modern native and cross-platform stacks, the same ones behind GOPulse. We pick the stack per project based on what you're building and who has to maintain it, and we'll explain the choice in plain language before we start.

We already have a website and developers. Can you just do the app?

Yes, that's one of our most common engagements. We build against your existing APIs, keep your team in the loop, and hand off cleanly if you ever want to bring it in-house.

Where are you based?

Ontario, Canada. We work with clients across North America, remote-first, in your timezone, with everything in writing.

Tell us what
you're building.

Thirty minutes. No pitch deck required. We'll tell you what it takes to build, and which way to pay for it.
